International Hotel Management Institute Switzerland (IMI)

The International Hotel Management Institute Switzerland (IMI) is a Swiss hotel school teaching tourism, hospitality, events management and culinary arts.

Available programmes range from Certificate through to Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration. The language of instruction is English. IMI's educational partner is  Manchester Metropolitan University  in the UK (MMU). 

In any semester there are around 35 different student nationalities represented at IMI with no national group generally exceeding 20 in number.
Also IMI- Staff is from all around the globe, ensuring a truly international learning environment. While studying at IMI, students are accommodated in single or twin rooms.

Brief History

In August 1991 the International Hotel Management Institute was founded at the Hotel Waldstaetten in Weggis with 55 students. By 1995 already 180 students were taught at IMI. In 1997 the new campus was launched in Kastanienbaum 12 bus minutes away from  Lucerne . Today, over 200 students are studying each academic semester at IMI which means the capacity of the school is reached. That is also one reason why a new campus being realized in 2012. The new location will offer accommodation for around 500 students and latest technologies and standards.
