Queen Margaret University

Queen Margaret prides itself on its small and friendly environment - it is certainly the place to study if you don't want to get lost in the crowd. We can offer students a supportive learning environment with high levels of contact time with teaching staff.

Our professionally relevant courses are continually adapted to meet the changing needs of students, employers and society. This flexible, accessible and responsive approach ensures that students will benefit from the latest research, technology and industry practices. Our academics are also recognised nationally and internationally for their excellence in research.

Queen Margaret's main courses areas are Health Sciences, Drama, Media, Business and Social Sciences.

QM is currently relocating to the first new university campus for 21 st century Scotland , on the outskirts of Edinburgh , by Musselburgh.

The new campus, which will replace all three existing QM sites, will boast "environmentally-intelligent" buildings, modern academic facilities, a public square and woodlands. Academic buildings will be linked by a modern cloister which will include internet cafes, exhibition space, a food court and shop.

The new campus will also feature student accommodation, sports facilities and a student union complex. Students will be encouraged to use a state-of-the-art "learning resource centre", which will combine the latest technology and teaching resources in one building and form the gateway to the campus.

The design takes full account of the needs of 21 st Century students and of the specific requirements of QM students. Examples of this are the multi-purpose laboratories and clinics planned to support the learning of students of the allied health professions, and the studio theatre where all students will be able to enjoy performances put on by those studying drama and the creative industries.
